VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

EAA is proud to be a member-based organization with more than 5,000 volunteers who offer their time and talent on a yearly basis. We are thankful and appreciative of our volunteers who are committed to providing the best experiences to our guests.

Available Opportunities

Volunteering during The Gathering provides you with a memorable behind-the-scenes view of this incredible event. Review the descriptions of the opportunities below and connect with us if you are interested in volunteering.

 Table Host

Number of volunteers: 50 (48 main floor, 2 balcony)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to guests.

  • Order, serve, and replenish drinks efficiently.

  • Respond professionally to guest requests.

  • Communicate guest requests to Staff Liaison or bar staff as needed.

  • Promptly clear drink glasses when empty.

  • Answer questions about the event timeline and location of restrooms

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Professional mannerisms and appearance.

  • Ability to stand for five plus hours.

Time Commitment: Day of event: 4 – 10 pm (central)*
*Arrival time may be later if training completed on earlier date.

Tear Down

Number of volunteers:  12

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown of the room after the event as directed.

  • Clear materials from tables and organize as directed.

  • Take down and store all chairs and tables.

  • Assist with any other tear down duties.

Qualifications:

  • Physical demands of lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, and standing.

Time Commitment: Day of event: 10 pm – 1 am (central)

Set Up

Number of volunteers: 8

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown of the room after the event as directed.

  • Clear materials from tables and organize as directed.

  • Take down and store all chairs and tables.

  • Assist with any other tear down duties.

Qualifications:

  • Physical demands of lifting 25 lbs., bending, and standing.

Time commitment: Day of event: 10 am - 5 pm (central)

Table Setting

Number of volunteers: 8

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating the mood for the evening.

  • Place collateral (menus, programs, bid paddles, etc.)

  • Assist with any other set up duties.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to details.

  • Ability to follow diagrams.

  • Physical demands of lifting 25 lbs., bending, and standing.

Time commitment: Day of event: 2 - 5:30 pm (central)

Because of your volunteerism, EAA will offer you an exchange ticket and a parking pass to enjoy EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 on either July 26, July 27 or July 28.  In addition, if you volunteer over a meal hour, you will be provided either lunch or dinner.  Thank you for your support of this incredible event.
